Wow!
Just a quick note to thank everyone who came down on Saturday so very very much – we had a brilliant day, and hope you did too! It was great to see so many happy faces drinking decent beer and enjoying the sunshine. At risk of sounding like a cheesy so-and-so – what made the day so special was that we had such a lovely, lovely crowd of people attending and helping out.
It was the first time any of the three of us organisers have had a hand in anything of this scale – we hope we did pretty well, but there’s certainly some lessons we’re going to take on board for next time. Most crucially, we absolutely hated having to turn people away. We had sold 180 tickets in advance out of the 250 that we had available for sale (because of a strict limit on numbers in our license) and had an influx at 12pm of people buying their places to come back later on. If you were one of the people who couldn’t get in, we are really very sorry – we’ll be thinking carefully about how we handle ticket sales in the future.
We’re still figuring out the exact numbers, but it looks like we’ve made over £1000 for Village-to-Village, which is going to go a long way towards supporting the charity’s projects – read more about what they’re up to here
We’ll be keeping this page updated with news of future plans – for there are definitely future plans in the offing – so keep checking back.
Thanks again!
Lib, Oli and Rach
